SPACESHIP DOLBY

HOLLYWOOD & HIGHLAND CENTER
DOLBY THEATRE ENTRANCE
LATE NIGHT, JUNE 2025

  • This was shot in the quiet hours, just past midnight. The usually tourist-swarmed Dolby Theatre entrance stood totally empty, and I took advantage of the eerie calm. The lights overhead felt like spacecraft windows, sterile and soft. The symmetrical architecture gave off a strange, futuristic chapel vibe. I leaned into that with the overlapping layers. I wanted it to feel like you’re stepping into a spacecraft, or maybe ascending to some celestial Hollywood myth. There’s no one there. Just me, a camera, tiled floors, and silence.

  • SPACESHIP DOLBY” captures a rare, stripped-down vision of Hollywood’s most iconic performance space. Jake Williams’ collage technique transforms a familiar landmark into something otherworldly. The precision of his assembly, paired with the muted tones and cold architectural elements, evokes a feeling of sacred isolation. Think Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner meets sacred geometry with a red carpet nowhere in sight. It’s theatrical minimalism at its best,  a layered invitation into Hollywood’s quiet underside.
